Dr. Randy Mitchmore: Committed to Improving Smiles and Lives
Dr. Randy Mitchmore is a dentist in Houston, TX. He is certified in IV sedation and has advanced dental education from the Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, the Center for Professional Development in Scottsdale, Arizona, and The Dawson Academy of St. Petersburg, Florida. He is one of only 700 doctors worldwide to have completed the full Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Cosmetic Studies (LVI) curriculum. That is education you can trust.
Finding Delight in Helping Others
One of Dr. Mitchmore’s greatest delights comes from helping people find their inner smile. He knows that there is more to dentistry than simply fixing teeth – when he isn’t giving a superbly healthy smile to his patients, he is giving a smile to his community. Giving… it’s what Dr. Mitchmore is all about; that’s exactly why he wrote his first book for patients and dentists, The Gift of a LifeSmile.
He is always getting involved in the idea of helping people and giving something back to his beloved community. And when Dr. Mitchmore gets excited about a project, everyone around him feels it and gets passionate about giving back too.
He has published other books including 10 Essential Dental Facts to Save Your Teeth, and co-authored books with hygienist Janie Robinson on Appreciation Makes Sense. He has also written chapters in dental textbooks on ethics in Esthetic Dentistry and many articles in professional dental journals and newspapers. The Montrose Star newspaper calls on him as The Trusted Dental Authority.
Licensed and Certified to Administer IV Sedation
He is one of the few dentists in the country licensed and certified to administer IV sedation for any procedure performed. This is a much more profound and precise monitored sedation than pills or gas. IV sedation can be a tremendous help to someone too fearful to have their teeth cleaned, or those who feel anxious about any general or cosmetic dental procedure or surgery.
Background and Family
He has also won a prestigious spot in Houston’s Top Docs since 2003. He created LifeSmiles University and lectures to other dentists and their teams from all over the country and internationally.
A native of Houston, Dr. Mitchmore received his doctorate from the University of Texas in Houston, and has been honored to be named a Master of the American Dental Implant Association and Master of the Academy of General Dentistry based on his continuing postgraduate education.
He has extensive experience performing dentistry from beginning to very advanced Alzheimer’s disease sufferers.
His daughter Emily holds a Master’s Degree in Education and teaches in Lubbock, Texas. Dr. Mitchmore enjoys staying very physically fit and embarking on adventure travel.
Giving Back to the Community
He volunteers for Give Back a Smile, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry’s project to restore the broken and damaged teeth of survivors of domestic violence. He spent many years on the board of directors for Bering Omega Community Services, a service that provides compassionate healthcare and social services to people living with HIV/AIDS. He currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Montrose Management District in Houston as an official volunteer government officer to improve neighborhoods in Houston.
Some of his past leadership positions include Chairman of Cleveland Regional Medical Center, President of Rotary Club, Cub Master, and Directorships in Mental Health Mental Retardation, Cancer Society, Chambers of Commerce and more. In fact, his list of involvements is just too long to print. He is always getting involved in the idea of helping people and giving something back to his beloved community. And when Dr. Mitchmore gets excited about a project, everyone around him feels it and gets passionate about giving back too. In fact, in 2008 he was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Charitable Foundation.
